Therapy staffing firm aids speech therapy students in completing their Clinical Fellowship Year

King of Prussia, PA – April 13, 2009 – When masters-level speech and language therapy students need to fulfill the required practicum hours for completion of their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), they turn to Therapy Source, a therapy staffing agency that supplies qualified therapists to the educational and healthcare sectors.

A CFY is a clinical practicum that is required by the American Speech -Language - Hearing Association (ASHA) in order for students to obtain their Clinical Competence Certificate (CCC). Upon completion of the academic course work, clinical practicum requirements and certification examination, students that apply for their CCCs must complete a speech language pathology clinical fellowship under the mentorship of a licensed therapist holding an ASHA certification. This experience consists of the equivalent of 36 weeks of full-time clinical practice, with full-time defined as 35 hours per week.

Roseanne Tray, a Speech-Language Pathologist, obtained her CCCs with the assistance of an ASHA-licensed therapist from Therapy Source. “I began with Therapy Source four years ago in a 9-month placement that was required for obtaining my degree; I’ve been with them ever since.
